Former SOMACC artistic director and current Ohio University-Chillicothe professor, Darren Baker, infuses the Richards Gallery with his color-saturated photographs of objects closely observed in local junkyards. On view through October 19, these deceptively abstract images are, in fact, hyper-realistic close-ups of intensely hued scrap metal parts. Darren’s idiosyncratic eye for color is never more keenly evident than in these beautiful, chromatic symphonies.
