The Southern Ohio Museum is pleased to invite area artists to participate in the summer exhibition entitled Cream of the Crop 2022. This is the nineteenth biennial juried exhibition of works by artists living and working within an 85-mile radius of Portsmouth and an exciting showcase for the finest art in the region.
Eligibility
Cream of the Crop is open to artists 18 years or older living within 85 miles of Portsmouth, Ohio. Artists may enter up to 3 pieces for jurying, provided the pieces have never been exhibited at the Southern Ohio Museum. Works must have been created within the last three years and must be for sale. Museum staff are encouraged to enter but are ineligible for prize money.
Procedure
Entries may be delivered to the Museum from July 26 – August 5 during regular Museum hours. Each work submitted must be clearly marked with one of the identification labels provided in link below.
Securely attach a completed identification label to the upper left corner on the back of all 2-dimensional works and to the underside of each 3-dimensional piece. 2-dimensional works not properly framed or wired for hanging risk automatic elimination.
Entry Fee
A non-refundable entry fee of $25, to be paid at the time of delivery, entitles each artist to submit up to 3 entries. Entry fee may be paid in cash, check or charge.
